I have been teaching for 9 years and I am the ICT coordinator at Becontree Primary School in
Dagenham. I am keen to bring innovative ideas to the classroom and love to see
children using new technology to enhance their learning.
I have previously been an Editor, Facilities Manager,
Producer and Director working in the TV industry. I combine these skills with
my love of ICT in education to run a school television channel as an
after-school club for children from years 1 – 6. I am working on embedding games based learning into our school curriculum and also hope to have the school blogging soon.
In my spare time I design book covers for Trifolium Books UK, teach drama and I am also part of an amateur theatre company and an
orchestra. I am @pearlyadder on twitter and I sometimes find time to write the occasional blog post.

I have been teaching full time for seven years and I am currently a Year 2 teacher at Oakdale Infant School. I am also the ICT Coordinator and have been for about 2 years now. I enjoy being creative in the classroom and believe that ICT is a fantastic tool to create strong imaginative cross curricular links that are meaningful for the children. I started using games in the classroom about 2 years ago starting with games based learning in my classroom and then extending it to a year group project in the summer term. Currently we have games based projects happening twice a year across KS1 and I am currently working with the EYFS team to introduce games based projects into their topics. The nursery use both the Wii and the xbox connect already when ever they can. I have found that using games as a way into a topic has really captured the children's imaginations and got even the most reluctant reader/writer to join in and have a go! I currently run a Year 2 ICT club and a Year 1 games club after school. My twitter name is @red_82
